HONKIES SLUGS

After the success of the Hold Your Horses/It's All Kicking Of for Honkies!!!11!!!! EP via Permanent Creeps, back in January, South London country band Honkies have been gigging extensively throughout the year at some of London's grittiest toilet venues and have already shared the stage with rising acts including: Peeping Drexels, Phobophobes, black midi, Black Country New Road, FEET and The Rhythm Method, to name a few. Their new single 'Slugs' has just dropped. It sees jangly guitar strums, tambourines and lo-fi drums sewn together with blues-inspired country vocals that are satisfyingly harmonised by Cat Rin and Jim Sutcliffe. In the Honkies' own words: "'Slugs' is a twisted country tale that deals with themes of alienation, general confusion at the world, people, societal inequality and gentrification". You can catch Honkies at various upcoming London shows:
November 2nd - Windmill Brixton (Through the Eyes of Ruby Exhibition)
November 16th - Sister Midnight Records (Release Show)
November 21st - Peckham Audio (supporting Sleep Eaters)
November 29th - Shacklewell Arms (supporting Ugly)
December 7th - Engine Rooms (DIY Thursdays)
-Ellie Rose-Davies
